Pegasus Town : ウィキペディア英語版
Pegasus Town

Pegasus Town is a new town under construction in the Waimakariri District of Canterbury, New Zealand. Named for the nearby Pegasus Bay, it is adjacent to the town of Woodend and is 25 km north of Christchurch. Once fully constructed, Pegasus will be home to up to 6000 people. The town will have approximately 1200 residential house sites, and up to 800 higher density units in the form of terrace housing and apartment living. A full town centre is proposed including retail and service outlets plus commercial office space.
The project ran into financial trouble in late 2012, with the developers going into receivership. Todd Property bought it for an undisclosed sum in December.
Completed amenities now open include:
*A 14 hectare recreation lake and 20 hectares of reserves, parks and open spaces. Lake Pegasus has its own island accessible by suspension bridge and more than four kilometres of lake frontage with 11 sandy and pebble beaches, a large waterfall, and a recreational equipment hire facility.
*Pegasus Golf Course; an 18 hole championship course together with driving range, tennis courts, pro shop, gymnasium and Bunker Café & Bar.
*Pegasus General Store which sells a wide range of items from food to hardware, and has a postal centre and DVD library.
*Flat White Café & Bar with a small library of books for residents to borrow.
*Sealed access road to Pegasus beach in Pegasus Bay 2 minutes drive from the town centre.
*Restored wetland areas planted with over 400,000 native trees and plants, with boardwalks and walking tracks.
*Play-grounds at reserves/parks throughout Pegasus.
The project was first proposed in 1997 by Southern Capital and is being developed by Infinity Investment Group of Wanaka.
==History==

*Mid 2006, major earthworks and site contouring began
*January 2008, first titles to land in the town were issued
*September 2008, first residents moved into the town
*November 2008, showhome village opened
*December 2009, Pegasus Golf & Sports Club, Lake Pegasus, Flat White Cafe, and Pegasus General Store all opened
As at May 2012, 1024 sections are now sold which equates to around 85% of sections that have been put on the market so far. To date titles have been issued for 805 sections in Pegasus stages 1–9 and Mapleham stages 1–5. Around 350 houses have been completed or are currently under construction and the population is now over 600.
At the heart of the town, Lake Pegasus has become a very popular venue for regional and national sporting events including national triathlons, dragon boat regattas, dive schools and sailing events. Pegasus Golf Course is the current home of the New Zealand Women's Open.
